The Arrival is a story moored in magical realism. It follows the reaction of a town set in its ways and closed off to outsiders to the appearance of a mysterious, mute, and unmoving boy in the town square. As days pass and the boy remains, the threat of this strange unknown grows in the eyes of the Neighborhood Watch and their Wives until they are moved to action, through kindness, or by force.
