RORY JANNEY
PITTSBURGH-BASED PUPPETEER, PLAYWRIGHT, & PERFORMER
Rory Janney (she/they) is a playwright, performer, puppeteer, poet, costume designer, community maker, & otherwise theatre-hyphenate based in Pittsburgh, where she’s completing her BFA in Theatre Arts at Point Park University. Her work explores alienation, community, & grief through all things fantastic & grime. She deals in tchotchkes, bric-a-brac, knick knacks, & bats.
Rory is also a recovering pick-me girl, embracing all that which she shirked for flannel & being not-like-other-girls. Her work touches on the absurd, sickly saccharine world of girl-hood, queer friendship, & the queerness of friendship.
Rory works as a costume designer & production associate for the immersive theatre company, Vigilance Theater Group.
